COAA will award a limited number of grants for partial funding for attending the COAA 2010 conference. Young sicentists and graduate students on the ocean and atmospher science and technology are encouraged to apply for the Travel Grants.

Read the following eligibility requirements to determine if you are eligible for the Travel Grants.

Applicants must complete and submit the application form to coaa2010@coaaweb.org by 28 February 2010.

• Applicant must be a current member of COAA. Join COAA, or Renew your membership today.
• Applicant must pay his/her own membership fee.
• Applicant must be first author and presenting the paper/poster. Submit your abstract to coaa2010@coaaweb.org prior to filling out the travel grant application.
• A supporting letter from your research advisor or supervisor is required, if you are a student.

The awardees are selected by the program committee of the conference.  Awardees will be notified by email of their selection.  Please give at least two weeks after the deadline to receive notice.  All applicants will be notified of their standing.  If you have any questions regarding the Travel Grants, please contact Charles Sun, (301‑713‑3272 ext. 111; e‑mail: coaa2010@coaaweb.org)

PLEASE NOTE: For a poster presentation, the grants will be awarded in the amount of US$50.00, while for a oral presentation, the grants will be up to US$200.00 toward travel expense to the conference site. The COAA works with the conference hotels to secure special rates for COAA conferences.  In addition, awardees must arrange their own flight and hotel reservations.
